St. Michael’s rich tradition of community support began some 60 years ago. Back then, friends and neighbors joined hands to help build, furnish and open the hospital. Ever since then, an ever expanding circle of friends and supporters have made a difference in the ability of St. Michael’s to provide excellent health care services, close to home.

In the early years, St. Michael’s Foundation focused on funding for physician recruitment. Besides our Second Operating Room project, recent gifts to the Foundation have been directed to funding equipment and technology, such as:

Mammography Machine
Defibrillators
Testing Equipment for the Newborn Hearing Program

Gifts from the community have also helped to furnish patient rooms at the hospital and nursing home and to purchase a van for St. Michael’s. Contributions have also helped to fund activities such as community concert tickets for nursing home, special volunteer events, and our community’s Dollars for Scholars program.

The Power of Many represented by generous donors from Sauk Centre and the surrounding areas has been crucially important to St. Michael’s past successes. It will certainly make a profound difference in the quality of essential services that we can provide for future generations.

Our highest priority now is a Second Operating Room. As of the first quarter of 2008, we have raised $127,800 of the estimated $300,000 total needed to complete this project. Gifts of any size are welcome and make a difference. We will need the support of everyone who understands the importance of quality health care close to home and who is able to make a gift to realize this goal.
