Van/Transportation
February 12th, 2003 we started collecting our pennies for our new van. Contributions started coming in and fundraisers were planned. In four short months, we had raised over $40,000 thanks to the support of the residents, their families, staff, community members, businesses and organizations. Our new van/bus arrived on July 29th, 2003. It can seat up to ten passengers with 4-5 wheelchair positions. Residents have been enjoying several outings. The ride is comfortable and the view is fantastic. Thank you to all who donated towards our new van/bus.
St. Michael's activity staff provides a variety of activities that meet the needs of all the residents, be it spiritual, psychosocial, physical, musical, intergenerational, social or empowerment. Activity programs are adapted to the needs of the residents. Our activity department is supported by a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers, organizations and community support. |
